Parents Getting Older

The average age of Americans is increasing year-by-year. Approximately 77 million babies were born in the United States during the boom years of 1946 to 1964. In 2011, the oldest will turn 65, and on average can expect to live to 83. Many will continue well into their 90s. Most people continue to retain the habits they developed as children and teenagers. For many Americans, these habits include lack of regular exercise, sedentary activities, and poor nutrition.

Shiitake as a Medicinal Mushroom

In Europe and America, “mushrooms” in a recipe usually refers to button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus), which were first cultivated in France in the 1600’s. In Far East Asia, the equivalent is Shiitake, which has long been the cultivated “food mushroom” of choice. Only in the past few decades has Shiitake become a household name in western cuisine.

Cordyceps sinensis - The Athlete’s Mushroom

Although it is true that exercise plays a very large role in building muscles, it simply is not enough to get those muscles growing. Simply put, you cant build anything that isnt there, so to be able to bulk up you have to learn what raw materials your body needs to start building muscle mass first before doing the exercises to shape up.
