My friend was prescribed by his pediatrician Combivent inhaler for the use of a bronchial infection for his four year old son (with the use of antibiotics as nicely). From what I know its utilised to treat patients with COPD. Is this a very good medicine to give a 4 year old?

Yes, it is fine to give to a 4 year outdated, but should be supervised by an adult. Use as the physician instructed.
There is only a single normal dose of Combivent® (ipratropium and albuterol inhaler), irrespective of your weight, age, or other health-related circumstances.

Combivent is a combination of Albuterol and Ipatropium to relieve bronchospasm in asthma individuals. With COPD individuals that have reversible signs, it can be utilized for emphysema or bronchitis.
