It’s nothing at all to be concerned about..just takes a whilst for the antibiotics to do their thing.
You really should be fine in a day or so.
If you are still acquiring problems seven days right after seeing your physician go back.
Excellent luck

If you really feel no relief or your signs and symptoms worsen seek one more opinion. Also drink lots of clear fluids, water is greatest. If you went to an ER or therapy center then consider a phsicians office. Do not want too long. Occasionally a bacteria will take 72 hrs to expand out I would examine back with the first contact at that point if not happy look for some one new.

I get bladder and UTI’s quite often. I’ve had them so many times, I can treat myself at home rather than antibiotics unless it’s really bad. When I am placed on antibiotics it is usually three to five days before the burning goes away. If it’s still there once you completed the antibiotics, you should go back to the doctor. You should be drinking lots of liquids right now. Water and cranberry juice are excellent for UTI’s. Try to avoid coffee, alcohol and caffeine as they will irriate the infection more. Otherwise, it could be an STD. Were you checked for any STD’s? Hopefully that is not the case. Also, while you are experiencing the infection, I find it best to not have sex until the pain is completely gone as any bacteria can make it worse. Good luck to you.
These are symptoms of a UTI
Pressure in the lower pelvis
Pain or burning with urination
Frequent or urgent need to urinate
Need to urinate at night
Cloudy urine
Blood in the urine
Foul or strong urine odor
Additional symptoms may include:
Painful sexual intercourse
Penis pain
Flank (side) pain, vomiting, or fever and chills (may be a sign of kidney involvement)
Mental changes or confusion (in the elderly, mental changes or confusion often are the only signs of a urinary tract infection; possible spread to the blood should be considered)
Are you taking any of these drugs?
Nitrofurantoin
Cephalosporins
Sulfa drugs (sulfonamides)
Amoxicillin
Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole
Doxycycline
Quinolones
Dont be alarmed if your UTI isnt cured in 3 days….. Continue to use ALL of your medication, even if it doesnt seem to be working.
Also, you may want to ask your doctor about a possible Kidney infection (pyelonephritis) which occurs in recurrent UTI’s or serious UTI’s.
Here are symptoms of a kidney infection, as you see they are alot simular to a UTI.
Flank pain or back pain
Severe abdominal pain (occurs occasionally)
Fever
Higher than 102 degrees Fahrenheit
Persists for more than 2 days
Chills with shaking
Warm skin
Flushed or reddened skin
Moist skin (diaphoresis)
Vomiting, nausea
Fatigue
General ill feeling
Painful urination
Increased urinary frequency or urgency
Need to urinate at night (nocturia)
Cloudy or abnormal urine color
Blood in the urine
Foul or strong urine odor
Mental changes or confusion
Hope this helps
